Stickam

Mmm, social video.

What a wonderful interesting thing it is, haha.  Anyways, I’m online on Stickam right about now, and it has to be the most interesting counter productive thing ever.  If you know me well, you would understand that I used to have a considerable online presence that I just kinda ost over the years as I began to develop into the kid that I am now.  That’s right, I abandoned the internet for real people.

Anyway, Stickam…I have to say I personally think it’s a great service, it’s not very productive but it doesn’t have to be its fun.  My only gripes would have to be based solely on the way that society functions as opposed to the…I wonder if I can stream my cam via PS3, that’d be interesting…excuse my random interlude there, anyways where I was going with that before my attention span kicked in….Oh yeah, I don’t find anything wrong with Stickam itself, it does essentially what it is meant to.  But, it still has difficulties in my mind because of the way society works.

Webcams…Am I the only one that understands how these things work?  A majority of the people only want to watch your cam if you’re either

A. Attractive
B. Stupid
C. Humorous

Though I have to say that humorous can often include stupidity, most people are actually entertained by others acting dumb.  I think I’ll attempt to get back into my little stickam phase though, I actually somewhat miss my online presence.  All of the people I’ve ever got to know online have been some of the best friends I’ve ever had in my life.  Perhaps that stems from the trust that you develop more easily with people that you believe you’ll never actually meet.  Either way, I have to say that video and webcams are pretty impressive, or at least I think so…it’d be nice if I could get my eyetoy to work on my PC again, because its definitely better than my webcam (in my opinion anyways) and if I ever get around to buying a PSEye, then I’ll have an awesome cam for my PC and an even better one for my PS3…

So what are everyone else’s thoughts on online video?  Am I being over-whatever in my assessment?  I just think this from prior experience.  Actually, the other night I put my cam live because I was bored.  You know what happened?  Some guy went in and attempted to be racist towards me in attempt to anger me. He actually seemed somewhat condescending towards me as though he really thought I was stupid.  Know what happened?  I fucking laughed. 

Guess that’s what the internet does to you.  Things just begin to completely fail to astonish you.  and yet…we keep coming back for more of this shocking internet wonder.

Anyways, I’m out of here, gonna play with Stickam some more…I may video blog eventually, but for now I’m playing Rock Band, ciao!
